The Role: Junior Product Developer (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Junior Product Developer who takes responsibility, thinks proactively, and is driven to improve things, with a strong focus on sports equipment. You will work in a motivated team, gaining autonomy and the chance to truly influence product development.

Working Model

• Location: On-site in Münster.
• Hours: Full-time or Part-time (min. 30 hours/week).
• Philosophy: On-site presence is valued for close coordination and quick decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Development: Contribute ideas, observe trends, and develop new concepts for functional Calisthenics & Fitness equipment.
• Product Improvement: Systematically identify, analyze, and implement improvements for existing products on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Support Product Developers: Work closely with other developers, manage smaller projects independently, and assist with larger mechanical developments.
• Prototypes & Samples: Coordinate sample orders, compare prototypes, provide structured feedback, and bring products to market readiness.
• Materials & Details: Understand materials and components for high-quality sports equipment and develop differentiating details.
• Interface: Brief technical documentation, coordinate with suppliers, and manage timelines to bring ideas to market.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure product quality, fit, feel, and safety align with GORNATION standards.
• Structure & Overview: Manage multiple products concurrently, plan proactively, and monitor timings and deadlines.
• Cost & Viability: Calculate costs, consider production expenses, margins, and sales prices for economically viable products.

Qualifications

• Organizational Skills & Ownership: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and execute tasks reliably.
• Material Understanding: Knowledge of materials like neoprene, leather, webbing, plastics, or metal, or the drive to learn quickly.
• Technical Aptitude: Ability to work with or brief technical drawings and spec sheets; understanding of function and construction.
• Project & Process Understanding: Experience in managing product development from concept to delivery.
• Quality & Brand Awareness: Attention to detail, consistency, and a drive to develop products that represent the brand.
• Communication & Teamwork: Ability to collaborate clearly and solution-oriented with internal teams and international suppliers.
• Tools: Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Language: English communication skills for international suppliers (email/chat).
• Learning & Drive: Eagerness to grow, genuine interest in sports equipment, and a desire to shape projects from start to finish.
