About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Engineer - Service Platform (f/m/d) to guide our Cloud Platform Engineering team. This role requires a blend of technical leadership, hands-on expertise, and a strategic vision for our Azure-based cloud-native platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a small but highly effective team of Cloud Platform Engineers, providing technical direction, mentorship, and hands-on leadership.
  • Design, manage, and continuously improve Tangany's cloud-native platform on Microsoft Azure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Take ownership of Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments, including cluster architecture, lifecycle management, upgrades, security hardening, capacity planning, and operational excellence.
  • Administer and optimize GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps services, including repository governance, CI/CD platform capabilities, access management, automation, and developer workflows.
  • Establish and evolve comprehensive observability capabilities using Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, and related tooling, ensuring actionable monitoring, alerting, logging, and performance insights across the platform.
  • Collaborate closely with product development teams to improve developer productivity, platform reliability, and overall developer experience through Internal Development Platform (IDP) capabilities.
  • Support second-line and ISO teams in meeting IT compliance requirements related to security, risk management, business continuity, incident management, ICT outsourcing, and governance.
  • Drive platform reliability and operational excellence through infrastructure-as-code, automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Take technical ownership of cloud-based platforms and services, ensuring technical quality, maintainability, scalability, and long-term strategic evolution.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development, development operations, and release management.
  • 3+ years of experience in team leadership.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud architecture best practices: security, reliability, performance efficiency, operational excellence, and costs management.
  • Proven experience in building cloud solutions in highly regulated environments.
  • Hands-on experience in Terraform, Shell scripting, Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines implementation.
  • Enthusiasm for blockchain technologies; blockchain knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Fluent in English (>B2); German is a plus.
