✨ AI Insights & Summary
Abnormal AI is revolutionizing cybersecurity with AI-native technologies, and the AI GTM Platform team is central to this mission. This Software Engineer II role offers a rare opportunity to build and own internal platforms that accelerate product development and customer solutions. You'll experience the full product lifecycle, from napkin sketch to enterprise-grade rollout, working with cutting-edge AI-augmented development tools in a dynamic, impactful environment.
### About the Role
Abnormal AI is transforming cybersecurity by using AI-native technologies to combat modern threats. The AI GTM Platform team builds the essential platform that empowers fast-moving go-to-market teams, enabling them to turn enterprise pain points into shipped products rapidly. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building leverage – creating tools, systems, and platforms that multiply the impact of others – and wants to own products throughout their entire lifecycle.
### What You’ll Do as a Software Engineer II
As a member of the AI GTM Platform team, your responsibilities will include:
* **Build the platform that powers the field:** Design and deploy internal products, APIs, and services that enable forward-deployed teams to prototype, validate, and scale customer-facing solutions with exceptional speed.
* **Own the full product lifecycle — 0→1, 1→10, and 10→100:** Work across Experimental, Early Access, and General Availability stages of platform products. You will have the opportunity to take an idea from concept to enterprise-grade rollout, often managing multiple products concurrently.
* **Work in a dynamic problem space:** GTM is where strategy, customers, product, and revenue converge. The platforms you build will directly influence the effectiveness of customer interactions, deals, and expansions.
* **Leverage AI-augmented development:** Utilize AI coding assistants to boost productivity, optimize workflows, and automate repetitive tasks.
* **Combat modern cyber threats at scale:** Develop secure, scalable systems within a platform that processes billions of security events for Fortune 500 enterprises.
* **Partner closely with customers and the field:** Collaborate with individuals closest to our enterprise customers to understand real-world problems, iterate quickly, and deliver compounding solutions.
### Technical Requirements
We are seeking engineers with the following qualifications:
* 3+ years of professional experience in software development.
* Backend development experience using Python, TypeScript, or Go.
* Solid fundamentals in at least one modern frontend framework (React, Angular, or Vue). While AI assists with implementation, the ability to critically evaluate generated code, identify good patterns, and ship defensible frontends is crucial.
* Familiarity with, or a strong willingness to learn and use, AI coding assistants in your daily workflow.
* Experience or a strong interest in building scalable, enterprise-grade applications.
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Strong foundational knowledge in computer science, data structures, and performance optimization.
### Nice to Have
* Experience building internal platforms, developer tools, or systems used by other engineering and product teams.
* Proven experience taking products through multiple maturity stages (prototype → pilot → scale).
* Exposure to Go-to-Market (GTM), sales engineering, solutions engineering, or other customer-facing engineering environments.
### Why Abnormal Security — and Why This Team
* **A rare breadth of surface area:** Unlike most platform roles that specialize in a single maturity stage, you will operate across experimental prototypes, early-access pilots with design partners, and fully productized General Availability (GA) systems, learning the distinct engineering demands of each.
* **Build for the sharpest users:** Your internal users are technical, fast-moving teams closely connected to our enterprise customers. They provide direct, high-signal feedback and quickly deploy your work to customers.
* **Direct line to business impact:** GTM platforms are measured by their ability to accelerate business velocity. Your contributions will compound across every customer engagement, every quarter.
* **AI-native engineering culture:** We embrace AI-assisted development as a key to staying small, agile, and ambitious. You will have significant freedom to experiment with and shape the team's use of these tools.
* **Mission that matters:** The systems you build are crucial for protecting the world's largest enterprises from sophisticated cyber attacks.
