Your Mission

As a Network Engineer, you will play a central role in delivering professional network solutions for our clients. You will analyze customer requirements, design scalable and robust network infrastructures, and successfully implement them. Your technical skills and problem-solving abilities, particularly in Cisco WLAN, Cisco DNA/Catalyst Center, firewalls, DNS, and network security (e.g., 802.1x), are crucial for project success.

Your Tasks:

  • Network Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analyses of existing network infrastructures to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  • Network Design: Collaborate with clients to design tailored network architectures aligned with their business goals, considering scalability, security, and performance. Utilize automation tools like Terraform and scripting to optimize the design process.
  • WLAN Technologies: Plan, configure, and optimize WLAN infrastructures, including Access Points, Controllers, and security measures based on Cisco WLAN solutions. Integrate WLAN infrastructure into Cisco DNA/Catalyst Center for administration.
  • Automation: Develop and implement automation solutions using Cisco DNA/Catalyst Center.
  • Data Center: Plan, configure, and optimize data center networks based on Cisco ACI.
  • Implementation: Execute network installations according to approved designs, ensuring correct and functional configurations. Integrate network automation into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex network issues to minimize downtime. Utilize scripting for diagnostics and problem-solving.
  • Security: Plan, configure, and maintain firewalls and intrusion detection systems to protect networks from external and internal threats.
  • DNS Servers: Manage the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of DNS servers for stable and reliable name resolution.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and addressing inquiries. Support clients in adopting automation, such as GitLab CI/CD integration.
  • Staying Current: Continuously update knowledge on the latest technologies and best practices in networking, cloud (AWS, Azure), WLAN, firewalls, DNS, and automation (Terraform, GitLab CI/CD).

What You Bring:

  • Completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience as a Network Engineer, ideally in a consulting or similar customer-oriented role.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of WLAN technologies, including Access Points, WLAN Controllers, and wireless network security solutions.
  • Scripting skills in Python, Perl, or Bash for automation tasks.
  • Experience with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Cisco DNA/Catalyst Center.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Cisco WLAN solutions.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Cisco ACI.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with 802.1x (wired, wireless).
  • Very good PKI knowledge.
  • At least one Cisco CCNP certification.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Language Skills:

  • Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken).
  • Very good knowledge of German (written and spoken).
