The Role: Senior Backend Developer
This Senior Backend Developer role is central to building TripArc's ADX platform, focusing on core booking infrastructure. You will own meaningful slices of the build, working with Product and UX to design, implement, and ship reliable, accurate backend services. This is a backend-focused role primarily using .NET Core microservices and SQL Server.
How We Build
AI coding tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) are used as a standard part of the development workflow, complementing engineering judgment and quality gates. The team values speed, confidence, quality gates, code review, and testing discipline.
What You'll Work On
Core Platform Initiatives:
- Design and build core commercial capabilities (service bundling, pricing, markup logic, margin enforcement).
- Build transactional workflows (deposit scheduling, payment collection, booking lifecycle handling).
- Develop flexible allocation and payment capabilities for complex booking arrangements.
- Own backend services for commercial accuracy (pricing calculations, margin logic, commission rules, transactional state management).
- Integrate with external services and third-party APIs.
Platform & Service Work:
- Build and maintain .NET Core microservices with a focus on reliability, correctness, and auditability.
- Write and optimize complex SQL Server queries and stored procedures.
- Design event-driven integrations using Azure Service Bus and NServiceBus.
- Contribute to Angular components for the advisor-facing UI.
- Support deployment and operations through Azure Pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
What We're Looking For
Must have:
- 5+ years of experience with C# / .NET Core, building production microservices.
- Experience in transactional or commercial domain work, focusing on accuracy, state management, and edge cases.
- SQL Server fluency, including complex schemas, stored procedures, and query optimization.
- RESTful API design and third-party service integration experience.
- Event-driven architecture experience (Azure Service Bus, NServiceBus, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of data correctness requirements (audit trails, state consistency).
- Comfort working in a mature, high-volume platform where correctness is non-negotiable.
- Proficiency in using AI development tools (Claude, Copilot, etc.) as part of the standard workflow.
Nice to have:
- Angular experience.
- Experience with MongoDB, Docker/Kubernetes, Azure Pipelines.
- Experience with compliance or data security standards for commercial transaction systems.
How You Work
- Prioritizes correctness and precision in financial systems.
- Designs defensively, documents assumptions, and builds with auditability.
- Communicates clearly with Product on financial edge cases.
- Collaborative, brings opinions to technical discussions, and takes ownership.
The Tech Stack
.NET Core, C#, SQL Server, Azure Service Bus, NServiceBus, Angular, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Pipelines, Redis, GraphQL, MongoDB, Entity Framework, JIRA, Confluence.
Why This Role
This role offers direct ownership of services at the core of TripArc's operations, where precision and backend development expertise are paramount. It's an opportunity for backend work that matters in a domain where accuracy is critical.
Compensation
- Expected base compensation range: $115,000 to $125,000 USD.
- Competitive compensation package with strong pay-for-performance rewards.
- Opportunity to participate in incentive programs tied to business and individual performance.
- The actual compensation may vary based on local market conditions, geography, and job-related factors.
