About the Developer Productivity Organization

Our Developer Productivity organization builds the platforms, systems, and workflows that empower Reddit engineers to develop, test, review, deploy, and operate software safely and efficiently at scale. We focus on reducing friction, improving engineering effectiveness, and enabling teams to deliver impact for Reddit users by working across infrastructure, AI tooling, developer environments, CI/CD, observability, code review, and software delivery systems.

The Opportunity

Reddit is entering a new era of software development, driven by the transformative power of AI and agentic workflows. This role is critical in guiding this evolution, ensuring that AI-native development is safe, measurable, scalable, and effective across the company. You will partner with engineering leaders across various domains to define and implement new workflows that enhance developer speed and confidence, while mitigating increased complexity and risk. What You'll Do

You will lead teams responsible for AI-native developer productivity, covering areas such as agent infrastructure, AI-assisted code review, developer environments, LLM governance, developer tooling, AI workflow measurement, and software delivery automation. You will act as a technical leader, balancing execution, strategic alignment, technical quality, and long-term platform vision. Your responsibilities include:

• Leading and growing high-performing engineering teams focused on AI-native developer productivity.
• Partnering with leadership to translate strategy into scalable platforms and roadmaps for AI development tools and workflows.
• Defining and evolving the operating model for AI-native software development, including paved paths, governance, and standards.
• Driving alignment across diverse engineering and executive stakeholders.
• Building systems and processes to facilitate the adoption of AI-assisted workflows.
• Developing communication and enablement strategies to bring teams along on the AI journey.
• Building and operationalizing measurement systems to quantify the real value of AI-driven productivity gains.
• Driving AI governance to ensure security, cost management, privacy, and operational safety.
• Applying technical judgment to guide architectural decisions and risk management.
• Partnering with senior leadership on organizational planning, technical strategy, and career development.

Who You Are

• 14+ years of experience in software engineering, management, infrastructure, developer tools, or AI tooling, including team leadership.
• Proven experience managing high-performing teams on large-scale technical platforms or infrastructure.
• Deep fluency in developer productivity systems (CI/CD, code review, testing, deployment, observability, developer environments, AI-assisted development).
• Understanding of AI and LLM-enabled software development, including agent workflows, governance, and risk.
• Highly data-driven with a focus on outcomes over activity metrics.
• Exceptional cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
• Experience leading significant organizational change and shifting team behaviors.
• Commitment to engineering quality, operational excellence, and developer experience.
• A pragmatic and iterative approach to driving change.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale developer productivity, platform engineering, or AI tooling teams.
• Experience with LLM platforms, agentic workflows, or AI governance.
• Experience building internal platforms or developer tools.
• Experience leading organizational transformation or workflow modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with engineering productivity frameworks (e.g., DORA, SPACE).
• Experience in fast-moving environments with evolving technical strategies.

Pay Transparency
