The Role

The Developer Relations department at Pantheon is seeking a full-time Senior Developer Advocate to showcase the professional usage of Next.js on the Pantheon platform.

What You Need to Succeed

Developer Relations at Pantheon works to ensure that teams using the web frameworks we support can build the best possible sites on our platform. This role involves two key modes of operation:

• Community Engagement: Communicating best practices to the web development community and how Pantheon supports them.
• Internal Advocacy: Providing feedback to Pantheon's staff on how to evolve the platform to meet market expectations.

While strong communication skills are fundamental, we seek candidates who can also execute technical changes. This may include creating sample repositories or submitting pull requests. This is a Senior Developer Advocate role specifically for Next.js, with daily activities centered around Next.js and/or Node.js implementations.

Expected Activities

• Write authoritative blog posts on technologies integrated with Pantheon.
• Own the quality of technical content and drive documentation efforts.
• Advise a select group of individual customers through one-on-one discussions.
• Produce video tutorials, webinars, technical presentations, and workshops demonstrating product usage.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for users of all technical levels.
• Actively engage in relevant online and offline community discussions.
• Present best practices at conferences.
• Oversee open-source projects maintained by Pantheon.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to prioritize future features.
• Provide early feedback on upcoming features.
• Lead team discussions and mentor colleagues and the broader community in areas of subject matter expertise.

What You Bring to the Table

• 5+ years of experience in web development.
• Significant experience creating technical content for a developer audience.
• Proven experience building and maintaining high-quality Next.js sites.
• Experience authoring and maintaining npm packages.
• A demonstrated track record of effective public communication via conference presentations and blog posts.
• Familiarity with current and emerging trends in web architectures and JavaScript frameworks.
• Ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and relationships.
• Comfort engaging directly with customers via video calls, Slack, and at conference booths.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with open-source collaboration tools.

The Canadian base salary range for this position is $88,000 - $111,000 CAD per year. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Compensation decisions are based on individual circumstances.
