Company Description

Voyage Privé, founded in 2006, is Europe's leading travel tech platform, operating across 9 markets. We are a mission-driven company where performance meets impact, known for our independent, profitable, and double-digit growth. Currently, we are upgrading our entire technical foundation with cloud architecture, AI, and real-time systems to become a global reference in luxury travel.

Your Mission

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will operate at an organizational level, shaping the technical direction of multiple domains and raising engineering standards. You'll partner with Product, Data, and Tech teams to deliver measurable impact and scale reliably and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect the Future: Design distributed, stateless, and scalable systems aligned with long-term strategy.
  • Stay Hands-On: Contribute to the codebase, prototype, implement, and review critical features with high-quality, pragmatic code.
  • Scale What Matters: Leverage asynchronous architectures and message-driven patterns (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, pub/sub) to improve latency and decoupling.
  • Ensure Consistency and Integrity: Define and implement patterns for data consistency, message ordering, and reliable state transitions.
  • Be a Multiplier: Mentor engineers, level up capabilities, and embed a culture of technical excellence.
  • Raise the Bar: Promote best practices in testing, observability, CI, and secure development.
  • Transform at Scale: Reduce technical debt and drive modernization for system agility and reliability.
  • Partner for Impact: Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Product, and Infrastructure to influence roadmaps and shape scalable architecture.

What We’re Looking For

Your Profile:

  • Proven experience designing and delivering robust, distributed, mission-critical systems.

  • Strong coding skills in modern languages (e.g., Java, Go, Python, TypeScript).
  • Familiarity with service-oriented and event-driven architectures, eventual consistency, and data synchronization.
  • Mastery of CI/CD, test automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Hands-on experience with secure coding practices and awareness of compliance/resilience.
  • Strong observability mindset (metrics, logs, traces, incident handling).
  • Fluent in English & French.

Leadership Competencies:

  • Ability to lead technical direction across multiple teams without positional authority.
  • High judgment in balancing engineering purity with speed, business outcomes, and risk.
  • Experience mentoring Senior Engineers and guiding org-level architectural decisions.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, influence without ego, and coach others through technical complexity.
