Role Summary

The Senior Product Content Engineer is a key individual contributor responsible for producing high-quality technical content across Togetherwork’s product portfolio using AI-first workflows. This role owns the most complex content deliverables, including API documentation, release notes, in-app contextual help, and internal enablement materials. Crucially, it serves as the primary architect of the AI content pipelines that power the team's output.

This is not a traditional technical writing role. The Senior Product Content Engineer designs prompt systems, builds automated content workflows, and applies deep editorial judgment to AI-generated output. The expectation is that AI produces the first draft of everything, with this role ensuring accuracy, clarity, brand consistency, and technical correctness at scale.

The role partners closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Engineering, and Design to integrate content production into the delivery lifecycle, ensuring documentation and in-app help are ready at launch. The Senior Product Content Engineer also coaches the Product Content Engineer on pipeline usage, editorial standards, and technical writing craft.

Key Responsibilities

AI-First Content Production & Pipeline Development

  • Design and maintain AI content pipelines that generate release notes, API documentation, in-app help, and enablement materials from Jira tickets, PRDs, and design specs.
  • Build and refine prompt libraries, templates, and structured workflows that produce consistent, high-quality output across products.
  • Apply editorial expertise to review, refine, and approve AI-generated content for accuracy, voice, and completeness.
  • Continuously improve pipeline quality by analyzing output patterns, identifying failure modes, and refining prompts.
  • Evaluate new AI tools, models, and capabilities and recommend integration into existing workflows.
  • Partner with the Director to expand AI pipeline coverage to new content types and product areas.

Technical Documentation & API Content

  • Own API documentation, developer guides, and technical reference materials across assigned products.
  • Partner with Engineering to ensure API docs are accurate, complete, and aligned with current endpoints and schemas.
  • Create and maintain structured documentation frameworks that can be templated and scaled across the portfolio.
  • Produce clear, developer-friendly content that reduces integration friction and support escalations.

Release Notes, In-App Help & Enablement

  • Produce release notes and changelogs aligned to product launch cycles across multiple products.
  • Create in-app contextual help content that guides users through features, workflows, and common tasks.
  • Develop internal enablement materials for Sales, CX, and Support teams tied to product releases and updates.
  • Ensure all content is consistent in voice, structure, and quality across the portfolio, following standards set by the Director.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Delivery Integration

  • Embed into product delivery workflows to capture content requirements early in the development lifecycle.
  • Partner with Product Owners to extract story-level detail for documentation and help content.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Adoption Specialist to ensure written content and in-app guides are complementary and consistent.
  • Work with the Director to define and refine content standards, style guides, and quality benchmarks.
  • Coach and support the Product Content Engineer on pipeline usage, editorial standards, and technical writing craft.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7+ years of technical writing, content engineering, or product documentation experience in SaaS or software environments.
  • Demonstrated experience building AI-powered content workflows using LLMs, prompt engineering, and automation tools.
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience producing API documentation, developer guides, and reference materials.
  • Experience writing release notes, in-app help, and enablement content for multi-product portfolios.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools and platforms (Confluence, Jira, Swagger/OpenAPI, ReadMe, or similar).
  • Analytical mindset with experience measuring content effectiveness and iterating based on data.
  • Excellent editorial judgment, able to assess AI-generated output for accuracy, clarity, and tone.
  • Collaborative and comfortable working across Product, Engineering, CX, and Revenue teams.
  • Must be located in Austin, TX; hybrid work required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in multi-product B2B SaaS environments, especially PE-backed or high-growth companies.
  • Familiarity with Pendo, WalkMe, or other digital adoption platforms.
  • Experience supporting platform migrations or large-scale customer transitions.
  • Background in developer relations, developer experience, or API-first product teams.
  • Experience mentoring junior writers or content team members.

Interview Integrity & Use of AI

Candidates are expected to represent their own knowledge and experience without the use of AI-assisted tools during interviews. Any use of AI tools during the interview process will lead to immediate disqualification.

Why This Role Matters

This role is central to Togetherwork’s AI-first content function, ensuring that across 15+ products, every feature launch, migration, and update is supported by clear, accurate, and consistent content.
