About the Role
Join our Data Science teams at Euromonitor, where we analyze data from the dynamic world of consumer goods, including standardized databases and online retail channels. We leverage ML models to identify consumer good attributes and provide valuable insights to our clients. You will contribute to developing new and improving existing ML models to meet evolving client needs, working cross-departmentally on a variety of projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Formulate hypotheses and develop proof-of-concept ML models for NLP (image/text processing).
- Work on Supervised/Unsupervised Learning tasks.
- Translate industry-specific knowledge into effective models.
- Monitor and ensure data quality.
- Communicate insights effectively in written and visual formats.
- Maintain ML models: measure performance, add/remove classes, create effective labeling batches, retrain with impact assessment.
- Suggest model improvements and propose working solutions for business problems.
- Ensure models integrate with existing systems and track model experiments.
- Keep model documentation updated.
- Clearly communicate problem status, actions taken, conclusions, improvements, and limitations.
- Utilize cloud resources, understanding notebooks, SQL instances, buckets, secrets, VMs, and service accounts.
- Contribute to pipelines, apply model scaling practices, and be mindful of cloud costs.
- Apply EDA principles, classical supervised/unsupervised learning techniques, main NLP techniques, and understand deep-learning techniques and computational complexity.
What You'll Bring
- A background in Mathematics, Physics, Natural Sciences, or Engineering fields, with relevant working experience of 2+ years.
- Advanced knowledge of Python/R/SQL.
- Understanding of merge-request git flow, basic scripting (CI/CD, regular expressions, shell commands).
- Familiarity with HTML/JavaScript and basic web app development skills.
- Good coding habits: proper documentation, linting, styling, reproducibility, code review best practices, and test-driven development.
- Skills to maintain and improve ML models.
- Experience creating and using cloud resources.
- Understanding of appropriate visualizations for different data types and familiarity with at least one visualization framework.
- Proficiency in applying EDA principles, classical supervised/unsupervised learning techniques, main NLP techniques, and a good understanding of deep-learning techniques.
