Overview of the Role

PolicyMe is seeking an experienced AI Engineering Manager to lead and scale a high-performance team focused on developing an AI-powered product suite. This role is crucial in modernizing the insurance experience by leveraging cutting-edge AI/ML technologies to build intelligent applications. The goal is to drive PolicyMe’s mission of becoming a leading insurance brand in Canada and beyond, building scalable, secure AI systems and innovative products.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead and manage a team of full-stack/AI engineers, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and career growth opportunities.
• Oversee the technical design, development, and deployment of AI-backed full-stack web applications.
• Collaborate with product, design, and QA teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Drive architecture decisions for scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based AI platforms aligned with business objectives.
• Foster an innovative environment for exploring state-of-the-art AI techniques.
• Lead technical decision-making to ensure alignment with product and company goals.
• Promote continuous learning and enhance the team's expertise in emerging AI technologies.

What We Are Looking For:

• 7+ years in software development, with at least 2 years managing engineering teams.
• Strong technical leadership experience in building and operating production AI systems at scale.
• Proven expertise in AI/ML disciplines such as NLP, computer vision, and recommendation systems.
• Solid technical background in web development, ideally full-stack, with proficiency in React, Python, and Node.js.
• Experience with cloud architecture, DevOps, data/ML pipelines, and infrastructure.
• Exceptional people management skills to motivate, mentor, and grow high-performing individuals.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex AI/ML concepts for cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, agile environment with a focus on collaboration.
• A track record of delivering complex projects with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, and security.

Compensation:

• Total Target Cash Compensation: $154,000 - $192,500 CAD (based on experience).
