About the Role

As a Researcher, you will play a crucial role in supporting management, producers, assignment editors, and the social media team in newsgathering and content coverage for broadcast, cable, and digital platforms. This position offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced news environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the full scope of production, including research and gathering of visual elements for ongoing stories and breaking news.
• Monitor social media sites and the web for relevant content and trends.
• Initiate and maintain communication with platform partners.
• Participate in daily network-wide conference calls.
• Establish and maintain working story and contact files.
• Monitor competitive broadcasts, cable, and digital platforms.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of one year of professional network news experience (program, bureau, or assignment).
• Working knowledge of TV production.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overnights, under tight deadline pressure, sometimes with little notice.
• Must be willing to work in Chicago, IL.

Additional Requirements:

• Hybrid Schedule: This position requires a hybrid work arrangement, with a minimum of four days per week in the office. The company reserves the right to adjust this requirement.

Compensation

Salary range: $58,160
