Cyber Infrastructure System Administrator (Remote)

ECS is seeking an experienced Cyber Infrastructure System Administrator to join our team remotely, providing essential infrastructure support for the NIH NIAID Enabling and Advancing Technologies (NEAT) contract. This role is crucial for the implementation and operation of Network and Cybersecurity, supporting current and future technologies within the NIAID and NIH environment.

About the Role

As a Cyber Infrastructure System Administrator, you will be responsible for supervising and managing the daily activities related to the configuration and operation of diverse systems, including mainframe, mini, and client/server-based environments. Your work will directly contribute to the seamless functioning and advancement of critical IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems (mainframe, mini, client/server-based).
• Plan and monitor system optimization for operation and resource utilization, including systems capacity analysis and planning.
• Provide assistance to users in accessing and utilizing business systems.
• Collect, store, and analyze data relevant to monitored applications to perform root causal analysis, support trend analysis, and forecasting.
• Ensure effective change management for all OCICB-supported software applications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, including support teams and ensuring quality of service operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Active Public Trust or higher security clearance.
• Strong supervisory skills in managing system configuration and operation.
• In-depth knowledge of optimizing system operations and resource utilization.
• Proficiency in performing systems capacity analysis and planning.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills for user assistance.
• Extensive experience with mainframe, mini, and client/server-based systems.
• Experience monitoring systems for unanticipated issues and reporting on performance metrics.
• Experience applying troubleshooting techniques across various server, application, and network technologies.
• Experience with security standards and best practices, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Must reside within the Washington DC Metro area.
• Ability to travel within the Washington DC Metro Area and CONUS as needed.
