About the Team
The Commercial Planning team is integral to SumUp's commercial success, transforming complex data into actionable financial insights that guide our growth trajectory. We collaborate closely with channel leads, marketing, and product teams to ensure our planning is precise, forward-thinking, and genuinely valuable for decision-makers. We are seeking an individual to lead the analytical workstreams for our acquisition channels and cultivate strong, trusted partnerships that enable effective finance business partnering.
What You'll Do
- Own Budget Planning: Lead end-to-end revenue and customer acquisition budget (CAB) planning for acquisition channels, developing scalable financial models, conducting scenario analyses, and delivering proactive performance insights to senior stakeholders.
- Finance Business Partnering: Serve as the primary finance business partner for channel leads, establishing trusted relationships, embedding financial models into commercial decision-making, and influencing assumptions through rigorous analysis.
- Deep-Dive Analysis: Conduct in-depth analyses at country, merchant category, and channel levels to identify revenue risks and opportunities, presenting findings clearly to senior, non-technical audiences.
- Business Case Development: Build business cases and product-level revenue forecasts to support existing and new product growth initiatives.
- Tool Migration: Contribute to migrating commercial planning processes from spreadsheets to scalable forecasting tools and streamline manual month-end reporting workflows.
- Team Guidance: Provide day-to-day guidance to an intern and/or analyst, fostering their skill development and navigation of complex analytical tasks.
You'll Be Great For This Role If You Have:
- Experience: Strong background in FP&A, revenue planning, business analytics, or management consulting, with a proven ability to independently manage complex analytical workstreams.
- Financial Modeling: Expert-level financial modeling skills, including multi-driver models and scenario analysis, with advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Business Partnering Skills: Proven ability to serve as a trusted finance business partner to commercial or marketing stakeholders, influencing decisions and building cross-functional relationships.
- Data Analysis: Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and manipulation from large datasets.
- Communication: Clear and structured communication skills, capable of translating complex analysis into sharp, actionable insights for senior, non-technical audiences.
- Adaptability: Comfort working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and developing structures.
