Travel Expectations

• Remote Roles: In-office events requiring travel to Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City offices (onboarding, team events, semi-annual/annual meetings).
• Hybrid Roles: Reside within commutable distance to the specified office; includes weekly/bi-weekly/monthly in-office team events.

Your Day-to-Day

• Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks in the software development life cycle.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine software requirements.
• Develop tools and applications using clean, efficient code.
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting.
• Analyze and debug systems.
• Perform validation and verification testing in a test-driven manner.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to improve products.
• Ensure software is up-to-date with the latest technologies.

Qualifications

• Required:
• Experience writing clean, performant code at scale using Java.
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL).
• Solid experience writing RESTful API endpoints.
• Working knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Proficient in GIT.
• Experience using system and performance monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, DataDog).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, RestAssured).
• Excellent organization, critical-thinking, and personal leadership skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to deliver with minimal supervision.
• Comfort with learning new things.
• Team player.
• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude.
• Proven experience as a great Engineer.
• BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related degree.
• Generative AI Code Assistants: Use of tools like Github Copilot and knowledge of Generative AI Model capabilities is an asset.

• Experience with UI development and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
• React, Selenium automation, and cloud experience.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Istio.

Compensation

• USD Range: $112,000 - $125,000 per year.
• CAD Range: $142,000 - $158,000 per year (not overtime eligible) + bonus + benefits.
• Compensation is assessed individually based on experience, skills, and market context.
