About the Role

As a Loss Prevention Responsible at H&M, you will be instrumental in driving the Loss Prevention strategy and its execution across the Sales Market. This hybrid position reports to the Security Manager and is based at the Toronto Support Office. Every day at H&M is unique, but your core responsibilities will revolve around safeguarding assets and minimizing shrinkage.

What You'll Do

  • Loss Prevention Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement effective prevention and detection methods.
  • Shrinkage Reduction: Drive the implementation of loss prevention tools, training, methodologies, and shrinkage reduction strategies throughout operations.
  • Data Analysis & Investigation: Analyze shrinkage reports, transaction data, and inventory discrepancies to identify and investigate internal, external, and administrative losses, as well as process weaknesses.
  • Strategy Development: Create data-driven Loss Prevention Strategies based on identified risks.
  • Root-Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough root-cause analyses and provide actionable insights.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of loss prevention initiatives, identifying areas for continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (store operations, sales market leadership, etc.) to ensure consistent application of policies, raise awareness about losses, and foster a strong culture of accountability.
  • Standards Maintenance: Uphold high loss prevention standards and implement actions to reduce losses.
  • Training & Education: Train and educate store staff and other relevant stakeholders on loss prevention awareness, security protocols, and incident reporting.
  • Case Management: Lead LP case management and reporting, including investigations into theft and fraud, and liaise with law enforcement.
  • Reporting & KPIs: Prepare reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), highlighting trends, risk areas, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Policy Ambassadorship: Act as an ambassador for the Loss Prevention Policy and contribute to the development of LP standards.
  • Global Standard Adaptation: Adjust global LP standards as necessary to comply with country laws and regulations.
  • Tool Management: Manage available LP/LD tools (LPMS, KPI dashboards, CCTV, shrinkage reports, etc.).
  • SECURE LPMS Utilization: Use the SECURE LPMS system to analyze data, identify loss trends, and pinpoint gaps in routines that contribute to shrink, driving targeted mitigation actions.
  • Ad Hoc Support: Provide support for ad hoc security responsibilities, including inventory processes, investigations, store audits, and other related tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Security Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Certification in Loss Prevention, Risk Management, or Retail Security is advantageous.
  • 3–5 years of experience in loss prevention, security, or risk management, preferably within retail or fashion retail environments.
  • Proven track record in reducing shrinkage and improving operational compliance.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, inventory management systems, and POS transaction analysis.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strategic thinking, excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
  • High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, proactive, and capable of working independently.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment and travel between locations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and LP tools (LPMS, KPI dashboards, CCTV systems, shrinkage reports).
  • Experience in LP case management (fraud, investigations, handling authorities).
  • Proven experience in implementing LP strategies and utilizing detection tools.
  • Fluency in English and relevant local languages (written/verbal) is mandatory.

Compensation

  • Annual salary: $78,400
