About Us

We are Belvo, an open finance API platform with the bold vision of democratizing access to financial services in Latin America. We enable any financial innovator to access and interpret financial data, as well as initiate payments from their end-users accounts. We’re turning the messy complexities of the Latin American financial ecosystem into a modern set of tools to access and interpret data and move money in a seamless and secure way.

We’re a highly-technical, passionate, and driven team. We are more than 90 people and our team currently represents 20 nationalities. We have offices in São Paulo and Mexico City – while a large portion of us work remotely.

We are tackling a very stimulating problem: connecting fintech innovators with legacy financial infrastructure. We strive to go beyond the limits of what is possible today and to do so in an elegant and developer-first way.

Since starting our adventure in May 2019, we have raised $71m from the leading VC investors globally.

• While we are global and remote-friendly, we also operate from our vibrant offices in CDMX and Sao Paulo. To accommodate various time zones, we ensure we are always synced up for at least 3 hours per day.

Your Opportunity

The data integration team at Belvo is building services that allow integration with financial and non-financial institutions. We retrieve, normalize, and store a wide spectrum of data sources at scale, focusing on operational efficiency, performance, and reliability.

• Develop and maintain connections to financial and non-financial institutions to retrieve, process, and store data.
• Normalize ad hoc data formats and sources into homogeneous endpoints accessible via our API.
• Work on reverse engineering complex antibot solutions alongside an experienced engineering team.
• Build a large-scale data extraction platform.
• Deliver value with an asynchronous multi-service architecture.
• Learn about top security practices and how to implement them in a highly regulated environment.
• Shape and ship new solutions from scratch, with the freedom to explore and try new technologies.

This Position May Be For You If

• You have a Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• You have 3+ years of experience as a Developer with Python.
• You have strong experience with techniques and tools for automation, crawling, extracting, and processing data (e.g., Scrapy, Puppeteer, BeautifulSoup, etc.) – the more programmatic and raw techniques you know, the better.
• You have excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and Spanish.
• Predictable work is not really your thing.
• Puzzles make you curious and you enjoy solving them.
• You have experience using AI-powered tools and frameworks to support software development, testing, or automation.

Amazing If You Have

• SaaS and large-scale platforms past experience.
• Asynchronous programming experience with Python’s asyncio.
• Experience using AWS (e.g., AWS Lambda, SQS, ECS…).
• Experience using Terraform to build and maintain infrastructure.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Experience using Datadog instrumentation and monitoring.
• Experience handling anti-bot measures, solving captchas, and working with proxies, headless browsers, app reverse engineering, and JavaScript reverse engineering.
• You can speak Portuguese.
• You have leveraged AI to fundamentally change the way you work and/or build amazing projects.

Our Tech Stack

• We’re building our platform using modern technologies, focusing on reliability and long-term maintainability.
• We primarily use Python on the backend, with battle-tested technologies like Django, and heavy use of Python’s asyncio for some parts of our stack.
• We use Javascript, Vue.js, and Sass on the frontend, developing and leveraging our own design system and component library.
• We run our infrastructure on AWS, favoring managed services to focus on business problems.
• We monitor our services using Datadog.
• We follow Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery best practices.
