Job Summary:
The Engineering team at SmithRx is developing a state-of-the-art, modern pharmacy benefits management (PBM) platform designed to revolutionize how companies administer and manage pharmacy benefits. Our unified technology platform delivers real-time insights for cost savings, powers clinical services, and ensures an outstanding customer experience. As a Senior Staff Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall test strategy of the products you support.
With an automation-first mindset, you will leverage your expertise to strategically implement tests, create and enhance automated regression suites, and maintain robust frameworks. You will focus on the entire automation ecosystem, defining architectural standards and evaluating how frameworks interact. Embedded within your sprint team, you will be the primary quality advocate, championing best practices, developing deep product knowledge, and delivering high-quality code. You will own complex, cross-cutting projects, develop comprehensive test strategies, and communicate quality status effectively to all stakeholders, consistently raising the bar for quality and proactively identifying defects.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure high test coverage and rapid defect feedback.
- Continuously maintain and improve our test frameworks.
- Help define the test architecture across all test frameworks and tooling.
- Manage test strategy, product testing, and planning within your sprint team.
- Create testing-related documentation, including test plans and test cases.
- Find and report bugs, tracking them to timely resolution.
- Collaborate with the Product team to provide valuable insights for impactful feature development.
- Provide clear test results to Development and Product teams to manage project expectations.
- Create and maintain security and performance tests.
- Develop deep expertise in SmithRx products.
- Utilize AI tools like Playwright MCP, Claude, and Copilot for efficiency.
- Maintain and refine quality metrics to track and communicate overall product health.
What You Will Bring to SmithRx:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- 12+ years of experience in QA and automation testing with a demonstrated track record of team leadership.
- Experience with one of the following languages: Python, Typescript, Java, or Javascript.
- Experience writing automated tests for APIs using a scripting or programming language.
- Experience with API automation frameworks such as Pytest or REST Assured.
- Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Familiarity with the Page Object Model for UI automation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins.
