Job Description

Are you looking for a new challenge? Due to continued demand and ambitious growth plans, Turner & Townsend is recruiting Estimators and Senior Estimators with proven experience in the Infrastructure sector (Rail, Highways, Power, Marine, Water, or Utilities).

These opportunities are available across our Newcastle, Teesside, Sheffield, and Leeds offices within the North East & Yorkshire region, supporting a variety of major programs and portfolios. We offer flexibility in location, and while our work is predominantly for regional clients, opportunities exist to work remotely (within the region) on estimating tasks for national and international clients as workload requires.

Our team provides a wide range of Estimating and Commercial Intelligence outputs to support client decision-making, including:

  • Estimate Production (from Order of Magnitude to detailed first principles estimates).
  • Estimating Assurance.
  • Estimating Support for Major Program Setup.
  • Data Analysis and Benchmarking.

Your Responsibilities as an Estimator:

  • Produce accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Control and manage the estimating process at the project level.
  • Produce estimates independently, without direct supervision.
  • Assist in gathering and sharing estimating data.
  • Support the development and promotion of estimating best practices within Turner & Townsend.
  • Assist in achieving departmental objectives.
  • Stay current with developments in your technical area of expertise to provide best-practice advice aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified to a high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success in providing estimating and/or QS services in a large project environment.
  • Previous experience working with estimating software packages.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body with chartered status, or working towards it.
  • Desirable: Membership of RICS / CIOB / A.CostE.
