About the Role

Reporting to the VP, Financial Reporting, the AVP, Financial Reporting will be instrumental in assisting with all US GAAP financial reporting requirements across all business entities. This hybrid role is based in our Jersey City, NJ office.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee and prepare group consolidations for quarter- and year-end close.
  • Support the US GAAP external and internal reporting process, including the preparation of financial statements, management discussion and analysis, and presentations for various stakeholders (Disclosure Committee, Audit Committee, Board, Investors, Banks, Rating Agencies).
  • Prepare financial reporting requirements for any Debt Issuance.
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry standards for controls and government processes.
  • Assist with the maintenance and development of the internal control framework for financial and statutory reporting.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects.
  • Act as a key liaison with internal and external auditors on financial reporting matters.
  • Coordinate significantly with actuarial, investments, and tax teams.

What You Will Have

  • University degree in accounting or finance.
  • Internationally recognized accounting designation (CPA).
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant post-qualification experience within the insurance industry.
  • Previous experience in financial reporting is required.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP reporting standards.
  • (If applicable to Group Controllership support) Working knowledge of US Statutory and Bermuda Statutory (SFS) reporting standards.
  • Strategic and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle shifting priorities.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $155,000—$175,000 USD (commensurate with experience).
  • Eligibility for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance.
