Customer Education Program Manager

Ashbyā€¢šŸ“ USA•USD 135000 - 153000

✨ AI Insights & Summary

Ashby is seeking a highly motivated Customer Education Program Manager to join their growing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and deliver customer-facing educational content, directly impacting user adoption and success with Ashby's innovative talent acquisition software. If you are passionate about translating complex product features into clear, practical learning experiences and thrive in a hands-on, collaborative environment, this position is an excellent fit to make a significant contribution to a well-funded, rapidly growing company with a strong product-market fit.

About the Role

Ashby is looking for a Customer Education Program Manager to own customer-facing education initiatives from concept to publication. Reporting to the founder of Ashby's Customer Education function, you will be responsible for creating and refining learning assets like courses, playbooks, and webinars to ensure customers receive practical, accurate, and genuinely useful content. This is a hands-on role where you will be deeply involved in scoping, writing, building, reviewing, and shipping educational materials. The goal is to make Ashby Academy feel like a personal Customer Success Manager for every customer.

What You'll Do at Ashby

  • Own net-new customer education work from concept through publication, including courses, playbooks, recordings, and other learning assets.
  • Define the goal and shape of each learning asset, gather SME input, design the approach, and build it.
  • Refresh and improve existing Academy content to align with current Ashby functionality.
  • Translate complex Ashby workflows into clear, practical, outcome-oriented education.
  • Partner cross-functionally with CS, Product, PMM, and RecOps Consultants to identify high-value education opportunities.
  • Contribute to the systems, standards, and workflows that help Customer Education scale while maintaining high-quality learning experiences.
  • Explore adjacent formats such as lighter-weight tutorials and in-app guidance.

Typical workload: Manage 2-3 new courses or major playbooks per quarter, plus ongoing content refreshes. The majority of your time will be spent building the work yourself.

Examples of work you might own:

  • Build a new Academy course for a new Ashby feature.
  • Develop a practical playbook tied to a real recruiting outcome.
  • Record voiceovers for customer-facing learning assets.
  • Audit and refresh existing courses after product changes.
  • Partner with SMEs to build assets that help customers apply concepts.
  • Experiment with lighter-weight formats when appropriate.

Role Requirements

You must already know Ashby well, understanding its workflows, common user sticking points, and effective usage strategies. Formal customer education experience is not required; Ashby fluency and the ability to translate that into coaching and content are key.

Ideal candidates will also possess:

  • Experience teaching complex subjects (live or written) and translating them into scalable content.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Strong writing skills to make complex topics clear and useful.
  • Comfort with recording voiceovers for customer-facing content.
  • Ability to own work end-to-end, from problem framing to launch.
  • Skill in collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather necessary information.
  • Good judgment regarding the scope and depth of learning assets.

Backgrounds that are highly relevant include: Hands-on Ashby experience as a recruiter, recruiting ops practitioner, implementation specialist, CSM, or someone who has used Ashby deeply enough to teach it. Ownership of meaningful work, a track record of improving teaching/documentation, and a focus on outcomes are valued.

This role may not be a fit if you:

  • Are still building Ashby fluency.
  • Prefer setting strategy without hands-on execution.
  • Need a fully defined scope to perform your best work.
  • Prefer optimizing established systems over shaping new ones.
  • Are seeking a coordination or project management role (this is a maker role).
  • Measure success solely by content volume rather than impact and customer adoption.
  • Prefer large, highly structured teams.
