About the Opportunity

Dayforce is seeking a Senior AI Governance Program Manager to play a crucial role in advancing the company's responsible AI and AI governance practices. This role is instrumental in designing, implementing, and continuously improving governance frameworks to ensure the compliant, ethical, and trustworthy use of AI across the organization. You will collaborate closely with Legal, Privacy, Product, Engineering, Security, and Risk teams to assess AI and data-related risks, support regulatory compliance, and operationalize governance controls within Dayforce's AI ecosystem. This position requires a blend of strong analytical skills, governance expertise, and a solid understanding of AI systems to align Dayforce's AI solutions with evolving regulations, industry standards, and internal objectives. This role reports to the leader of AI Governance.

What You'll Do

  • Interpret and apply emerging AI governance regulations, standards, and industry frameworks to real-world AI use cases.
  • Support AI governance compliance initiatives, including gap identification, remediation recommendations, and audit assistance.
  • Conduct and own risk assessments for complex AI systems, identifying systemic risks, monitoring bias, and evaluating mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in AI model and algorithm reviews to assess governance, compliance, ethical, and operational risks.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of AI governance frameworks, controls, standards, and processes.
  • Map governance controls to relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO, NIST, emerging AI frameworks).
  • Lead reviews of governance frameworks and drive continuous improvements in processes and documentation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Security, Legal, Privacy, and Enterprise Risk teams to operationalize responsible AI practices.
  • Develop governance reports, presentations, risk summaries, and technical documentation for diverse audiences.
  • Support governance committees, audit activities, and regulatory inquiries with minimal supervision.
  • Manage governance initiatives from end-to-end, including timelines, dependencies, stakeholder coordination, and delivery.
  • Evaluate AI and data architecture to identify governance, compliance, privacy, and operational risks.
  • Support metadata governance, model documentation, model inventory management, and AI lifecycle governance.
  • Anticipate business impacts of governance decisions and communicate recommendations effectively.
  • Foster a culture of responsible AI, ethical data usage, and continuous governance improvement.

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in AI governance, technology risk, data governance, compliance, privacy, cybersecurity, model risk management, or related fields.
  • Post-secondary education certificate or university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Risk Management, Data Governance, Law, Business, or a related discipline.
  • IAPP certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AI governance principles, model risk management, and responsible AI practices.
  • Familiarity with global AI and data regulations, frameworks, and standards (e.g., ISO, NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, GDPR).
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, control evaluations, or compliance reviews for AI, data, or technology systems.
  • Understanding of AI/ML lifecycle concepts, model behavior evaluation, bias detection, performance monitoring, and governance implications.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts and governance impacts for diverse audiences.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical and business teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience drafting governance documentation, standards, procedures, or audit artifacts.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in a SaaS or cloud-based technology environment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery environments and enterprise governance processes preferred.
