Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain and improve month-end close processes, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI-enabled tools, and process improvements to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and accelerate the month-end close process.
- Respond to information requests and assist with the annual financial statement audit.
- Analyze financial statements and GL accounts to ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual fluctuations are in line with expectations and documented.
- Prepare operational and ad hoc reporting for assigned financial statement areas.
- Assist accounting leadership as needed.
90-Day Plan
- Take ownership of preparing assigned financial statement areas (e.g., revenue, cost of goods sold, inventory, administrative fees).
- Identify at least one opportunity to streamline an accounting process through automation, AI tools, or workflow improvements.
- Establish strong cross-functional working relationships.
Must-Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-4 years of experience, preferably with a mix of public and private accounting.
- CPA preferred.
- Experience with complex accounting areas (e.g., revenue recognition, inventory, stock-based compensation, debt/equity financing, business combinations, investments).
- Experience leveraging automation, AI tools, or advanced technology solutions to improve accounting processes.
- Ability to read and analyze financial statements/reports.
- Comfort with ambiguity and lack of formally defined processes.
- Public company exposure preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Comfort working in a fully remote setting.

Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation range: $83,738 - $110,000 (location-based).
