Consulting Engineer – Rome (Hybrid)

MongDB is expanding its global team to support its ongoing plans for worldwide growth and is seeking Consulting Engineers.

MongDB Professional Services collaborates with customers of all sizes and industries, tackling diverse use cases from e-commerce platforms to trading systems. This role provides opportunities to solve complex problems, gain cross-stack experience, work with talented individuals, network with industry leaders, and travel.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a highly technical individual with strong problem-solving and communication skills, comfortable working closely with customers.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

• Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• High motivation for a role combining deep technical expertise and customer management.
• Confidence in speaking and presenting in collaborative customer settings.
• 2+ years of software development, consulting, or support experience, preferably across distinct industries/verticals.
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures, application development methodologies, and software deployment and operations.
• Competence in at least one of the following languages (in no particular order): Java, C++, C#, Python, Node.js (JavaScript), Ruby, Perl, Scala, Go.
• Experience with databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Linux diagnostics and tuning; Windows tuning knowledge is a plus.
• Capability and comfort with frequent short trips to customer sites during the work week.
• Strong proficiency in English and any necessary local language.

Position Expectations

As a core member of the MongoDB Professional Services team, you will:

• Contribute to customer implementations across all phases of the application lifecycle: portfolio assessment, application planning and design, deployment architectures, development and build, integration and release configuration, system testing, production operations, application optimization, and best practices adoption.
• Deliver customer classroom-based training for architect, developer, and operations roles.
• Work as part of a wider delivery team comprising fellow consulting engineers, project managers, and account teams.
• Cultivate your individual MongoDB reputation as a trusted advisor to guide MongoDB and our customers into the future.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to influence the direction of the MongoDB product roadmap.
