Engagement Manager - Professional Services (Remote, Sao Paulo, BR)
About the Role
MongDB is seeking a quota-carrying Engagement Manager to join our Professional Services team. You will be instrumental in discovering customer business initiatives, developing comprehensive services strategies, scoping and negotiating engagements, and driving Professional Services bookings. This role is crucial for accelerating customer outcomes and fostering MongoDB adoption.
You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Professional Services, and Customer Success teams to shape how we help customers achieve their MongoDB vision. Top performers will excel at developing multi-phased services strategies aligned with customer modernization, migration, AI, and application development initiatives. You will also build business cases, define outcomes, and secure investment by engaging with both executive and technical stakeholders.
What You'll Do at MongoDB
- Understand customer application portfolios and identify opportunities to design delivery programs for modernization, cloud adoption, AI enablement, and data platform transformation.
- Lead discovery, solutioning, estimation, and commercial negotiations to convert customer business initiatives into Professional Services bookings.
- Collaborate with cloud partners, strategic partners, and MongoDB account teams to develop and execute customer success and Professional Services growth strategies.
- Maintain a strong sense of ownership, driving all deals and technical scopings from inception to closure.
- Manage the Professional Services pipeline for bookings and revenue forecasts for your region.
- Articulate the business value of professional services, discussing service delivery challenges, strategies, approaches, and risk mitigation credibly.
- Work with the practice team to develop repeatable assets like estimates, proposals, SOWs, templates, and case studies.
- Transition agreed project scope and customer expectations to the delivery team for successful project execution.
- Proactively support and mentor other team members, sharing best practices.
- Demonstrate situational awareness and react appropriately in group settings.
An Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience in Professional Services sales, consulting sales, solution consulting, or quota-carrying technology roles.
- A BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in selling Professional Services and/or technology solutions at an enterprise software company.
- Experience as an architect, consultant, project manager, or Professional Services manager.
- Experience internally positioning and selling professional services.
- General knowledge of databases (RDBMS, SQL, NoSQL).
- Experience and knowledge of the software development lifecycle and associated methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Knowledge of software architecture, including cloud and on-premise technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Ability to collaborate within a larger account team to build and execute complex account strategies and sales plays.
- A strong ability to scope and estimate projects.
- Excellent presentation skills, demonstrating the value, capabilities, and differentiators of complex service solutions.
- Willingness to travel for key engagements and team offsites.
