About the Role

Want to join our team as a Laboratory Technician?

Reporting to the Laboratory Performance Manager, the Laboratory Technician will be responsible for testing and evaluating raw materials and finished products in order to continuously improve product quality and performance. Working with a team of laboratory technicians, you will participate in the daily planning of tasks, including priorities and special cases.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests on R&D samples and finished products to evaluate and validate their mechanical performance.
  • Assist development and production teams in making critical project decisions.
  • Evaluate test results, prepare technical reports and make recommendations based on the results.
  • Collaborate with researchers, engineers, developers, designers and other team members to review requests, establish test programs and provide accurate test results and recommendations.
  • Responsible for managing the maintenance, repair and calibration of laboratory equipment, as well as developing and recommending new test methodologies and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Possess a College Diploma (DEC), College Certificate (AEC) in Sciences, or equivalent experience.
  • French & English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, with the ability to read, understand, and follow test protocols and procedures.
  • Knowledge of ISO, ASTM, or CSA standards, an asset.
  • Experience in laboratory equipment calibration, an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be able to lift and/or push 20 to 45 lbs of test equipment or samples.
  • Experience working in a mechanical testing laboratory.
  • Knowledge of Composite materials, an asset.
  • Machining, CNC or manual, an asset.
  • CAD drawing, an asset.
  • Excellent technical writing and analytical skills.
