Job Summary

The Engineering team at SmithRx is developing a next-generation modern PBM platform designed to fundamentally change how companies administer and manage pharmacy benefits. Our unified technology platform provides real-time actionable insights that drive cost savings, power clinical services, and deliver a brilliant customer experience. As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will own the overall test strategy for the products you test, championing an automation-first mindset. You will create and maintain automated tests and frameworks, ensuring they are reliable, efficient, and easy to use. Embedded within your sprint team, you will be the primary quality advocate, developing deep product knowledge, delivering high-quality code, and consistently raising the bar for quality standards.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure high test coverage and fast feedback on defects.
  • Continuously maintain and improve our test frameworks.
  • Manage test strategy, product testing, and planning within your sprint team.
  • Create testing-related documentation, including test plans and test cases.
  • Find and report bugs, tracking them to resolution in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Product team to provide valuable insights and input for impactful features.
  • Provide clear test results to Development and Product teams to manage project expectations and progress.
  • Create and maintain security and performance tests.
  • Develop deep expertise in the SmithRx products.
  • Utilize AI tools like Playwright MCP, Claude, and Copilot to realize efficiencies in your daily work.
  • Maintain and refine quality metrics to track and communicate overall product health.

What You Will Bring to SmithRx

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in QA and automation testing with a demonstrated track record of team leadership.
  • Experience with one of the following languages: Python, Typescript, Java, or Javascript.
  • Experience writing automated tests for APIs in a scripting or programming language.
  • Experience with API automation frameworks such as Pytest or REST Assured.
  • Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Familiarity with the Page Object Model for UI automation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins.
