About the Position:
The IT Generalist/Field Technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance, providing end-user support, and analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing computer systems, hardware, and peripheral equipment. This role requires frequent travel to all Otterbein sites, offering a dynamic work environment supporting a broad range of technology needs.
Responsibilities:
- Support Center: Respond to calls, emails, and tickets to resolve end-user issues via remote or hands-on support.
- Equipment Management: Repair, rebuild, prepare, and deploy new equipment, including end-user devices (computers, phones) and enterprise equipment (firewalls, switches, access points, UPS units).
- System Support: Resolve dial tone and other phone system issues.
- Documentation: Maintain inventory, support center, hardware, and software documentation.
- System Oversight: Support organization-wide Hikvision Camera System and server-based Nurse & Emergency Call Systems.
- Collaboration: Assess, design, implement, troubleshoot, monitor, and improve the organization’s network and technology infrastructure in collaboration with other teams.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting the IT needs of multiple locations.
- Customer-first mentality.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Microsoft 365.
- Knowledge and working experience with Active Directory.
- Knowledge and working experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
- Knowledge of network cabling.
- Cisco VoIP experience.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- A+ certification (additional IT-related certifications are a plus).
- BS degree in an IT or business-related major, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with Office365 in a hybrid environment.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders, and maneuver in cramped IT closets.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel locally or regionally.
