About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Financial Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will manage day-to-day accounting operations, gain a deep understanding of our consumer lending business, and ensure precise and timely financial reporting. What You'll Do
- Prepare month-end working papers and journal entries accurately and on time.
- Conduct daily reconciliations for cash and loans receivable.
- Support ongoing operational accounting tasks.
- Assist with lender reporting by providing monthly reports and ad-hoc analysis.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Accounting to refine processes and workflows.
- Contribute to the annual financial audit process.
- Undertake other assigned duties, tasks, or special projects, with a focus on cost savings or efficiency improvements.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting experience.
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA designation is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookup, pivot tables, sumif).
- Solid understanding of IFRS concepts and daily accounting practices.
- Experience with Accounting ERP systems, audit, and Google Looker is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, proactive, dependable, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Experience in the financial services or lending industry is a plus.
