The Role: Electrical Engineer

ProSidian is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer specializing in Technical Due Diligence & Engineering Validation for Downstream Oil & Gas, Midstream, and Pipelines. This role is part of the program support for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Loan Programs Office (LPO) under the Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) Program. This is an Exempt 1099 contract position, primarily remote within the USA, with potential for on-site meetings. The position aligns with the GSA Labor Category: Senior Consultant II.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Independent Engineering (IE) advisory services focused on electrical systems for energy infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct technical due diligence, credit evaluation, and lifecycle monitoring of electrical systems, power distribution, and reliability aspects.
  • Assess power systems and facility reliability, including power distribution, electrical systems, backup power, load analysis, and overall reliability.
  • Review project documentation, evaluate technical and commercial interfaces, and identify risks and mitigations related to electrical engineering.
  • Validate assumptions and support conditions precedent and disbursement readiness reviews.
  • Prepare defensible work products such as single-line reviews, load studies, protection coordination analyses, electrical inspection reports, and system performance reports.
  • Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls stakeholders.
  • May participate in data room reviews, borrower/contractor interviews, site observations, and monthly monitoring meetings.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with oil and gas, power, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly for owners, lenders, independent engineers, or federal clients.
  • Expertise in electrical systems, power distribution, protection, reliability, and code compliance within the energy sector.
  • Proficiency in independent engineering review, technical due diligence, and risk assessment.
  • Experience with data room review, information request tracking, report writing, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Loan Programs Office (LPO) documentation standards.
  • PE, PMP, CSP, API, NACE/AMPP, or PMI discipline-specific credentials are preferred.
  • Strong technical judgment, analytical rigor, attention to detail, and client service orientation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), Adobe Acrobat, and data analytics tools.
