Join Remote at a pivotal moment and make a tangible difference in the global employment landscape. As a Senior Product Manager, Fraud and Compliance, you will be instrumental in the Fintech area. As Remote expands its transaction volume and international reach, the need for robust fraud, credit risk, and compliance strategies intensifies. This role empowers you to own the systems and strategies that protect Remote and its customers throughout their lifecycle, from onboarding verification and risk assessment to fraud detection and enforcement. You will lead the charge in transforming our risk and compliance capabilities from reactive, rule-based systems to proactive, automated solutions that identify risks early and scale efficiently. This is a high-autonomy, high-stakes position reporting to the Director of Product, with close collaboration across Risk, Compliance, Treasury, Legal, Collections, and Engineering.
What you bring
- Proficiency in Cursor and/or Claude Code: You must be able to autonomously build, debug, and ship functional code and prototypes, not just write specifications.
- AI Fluency: A strong understanding and vision for how AI and automation can revolutionize risk operations, including pattern detection, anomaly scoring, and compliance workflows.
- Seasoned Product Manager: Proven track record in platform, API, or products designed for operational teams.
- Platform Mindset: Ability to build extensible systems that enable scalability without proportional increases in manual effort or complexity.
- Strong UX Sensibilities: A commitment to excellent user experience for both administrative and customer-facing risk and compliance tools.
- Outstanding Communication and Collaboration Skills: Effective partnership with compliance, engineering, design, treasury, and legal teams, with a lead-by-example approach to asynchronous workflows.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Proficiency in querying data and utilizing visualization tools to inform prioritization.
- Fast Learner with a Growth Mindset: Humble, eager to learn quickly, and adept at sharing knowledge to elevate the entire team.
- Great Judgment: Capable of making strategic (prioritization) and tactical (feature scope) decisions.
- Language: Business-level proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Domain Advantage (Nice to Have): Experience with risk/compliance platforms and third-party screening or fraud detection tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Credit Risk Assessment and Reserve Management: Drive the strategy for evaluating, scoring, and mitigating credit risk. Evolve models and tooling for enhanced intelligence, speed, and automation.
- Fraud Detection and Prevention: Lead fraud controls, freeze mechanisms, and dispute workflows. Develop proactive strategies to detect and prevent fraud.
- Compliance Automation: Oversee end-to-end onboarding compliance, including KYB verification, AML screening, and background checks. Automate processes to minimize manual effort while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Build Flexible, Platform-Oriented Systems: Prioritize solutions that allow operations teams to configure and extend capabilities without engineering intervention, removing engineering bottlenecks.
- Collections and Enforcement: Collaborate with Collections and Treasury on risk reserves, payment blocks, and enforcement actions, owning relevant admin and customer-facing interfaces.
- Ship Iteratively at Pace: Lead a product team to achieve high throughput and ROI, focusing on key KPIs for automation rates, false-positive reduction, and risk accuracy.
- Stakeholder Management: Effectively manage stakeholders across risk, operations, and finance, translating complex risk trade-offs into clear product decisions and aligning with Compliance Operations, Treasury, Legal, and senior leadership.

We are committed to paying above in-location rates and believe in fostering global talent. Our salary bands, ranging from $149,750 to $168,500, are wide due to our international operations and globally distributed workforce, utilizing geo ranges for competitive market positioning. The actual base pay is determined by factors such as location, skills, experience, training, business needs, and market demands. Compensation changes, including internal moves, are reviewed by the Total Rewards & People Enablement team to ensure equity and fairness.
