About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Continuous Improvement Specialist to drive operational excellence across the organization. This role is crucial for building a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, implementing sustainable changes, and enhancing business processes. You will lead initiatives to boost productivity, standardize operations, improve service quality, ensure compliance, and elevate the employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence & Improvement Delivery

  • Champion and embed a culture of Continuous Improvement.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies, process gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and cross-functional improvement sessions.
  • Partner with operational leaders to implement practical and sustainable solutions.
  • Monitor initiative progress and track benefits realisation.

Training & Capability Development

  • Deliver Continuous Improvement training programs.
  • Develop learning materials, process documentation, SOPs, and user guides.
  • Facilitate workshops and capability-building sessions.
  • Promote awareness of Lean principles and operational excellence practices.
  • Maintain training and capability dashboards.

Coaching & Improvement Support

  • Coach teams on Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
  • Support project teams in planning, tracking, and sustaining improvements.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Process Documentation & Standardisation

  • Develop and maintain process maps, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Support standardisation initiatives across teams and sites.
  • Ensure documentation remains current.

Automation & Innovation

  • Support automation, digitalisation, RPA, and AI-driven improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operational and technology teams to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (essential).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, or Process Improvement roles.
  • Strong experience in process mapping, documentation, and SOP development.
  • Proven capability facilitating workshops and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in shipping, logistics, supply chain, warehousing, or transport environments (desirable).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel as required.
  • Right to live and work in New Zealand.
