Full-Stack Developer (m/f/d) - Digital Transformation & AI

We are a successful e-commerce company specializing in custom-made bathroom mirrors and furniture, operating across Europe through our own online shops. While our niche might seem specific, our business is substantial and relies heavily on sophisticated technology. We are undergoing a company-wide digital transformation, modernizing everything from our website and inventory management to our production processes.

About the Role

This is a pivotal, individual contributor role focused on integrating and automating systems across the entire business. You will have broad technical responsibilities, working directly with the management team to connect disparate systems, streamline manual processes, and drive innovation in production automation. You won't be confined to one area; instead, you'll have code access everywhere, with the mandate to make everything grow together piece by piece.

What You'll Do (Aufgaben)

• System Integration & API Development: Connect our shop, inventory management, production, shipping, and DATEV systems to ensure seamless communication.
• Process Automation: Analyze, question, and automate internal workflows from order entry to reporting. This includes the mid-term development of an ERP system.
• Production Software: Contribute to the development of production-related software, including machine connectivity and manufacturing processes, with future potential for robotics.
• Webshop Development: Maintain and enhance our existing Modified eCommerce shops (PHP/MariaDB).
• Frontend Relaunch: Participate in the ongoing frontend relaunch (Bootstrap 5, Webpack, SCSS, Smarty) and expand the existing Playwright test suite.
• Infrastructure & Operations: Manage servers, deployments, backups, monitoring, and security. You'll be empowered to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Technical Consulting: Advise management on technical strategy, including identifying new automation opportunities.

What You Bring (Qualifikation)

• AI-Proficiency: Strong skills in AI-assisted coding, including coding assistants, LLM APIs, and automation. This is prioritized over years of experience.
• Core Technologies: Proficiency in PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, and JavaScript. A solid technical foundation and understanding of how code works are essential.
• Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn and integrate into new technical areas (shop systems, inventory management, machine integration).
• API & Interfaces: Experience reading, understanding, and building APIs and interfaces.
• DevOps Practices: Familiarity with GitLab and deployment processes. Your operating system preference is secondary to results.
• Autonomy: A highly independent work style. You thrive without micromanagement.
• Communication: Good command of German and English.
• Experience Level: Your years of experience are less important than your demonstrated skills and capabilities.

Nice-to-haves: Modified/xt:Commerce/osCommerce experience, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, n8n or Make, MCP integrations, DATEV interfaces.
