About the Role

To sustainably develop our team, we are looking for a technically proficient and strong leadership personality as Head of Department for Soil and Groundwater Reports / Contaminated Sites (m/f/d) at the Heidelberg location (alternatively Ludwigshafen).

Your Responsibilities:

Technical Responsibility

  • Leadership and management of demanding projects in the field of soil and groundwater reports as well as contaminated sites.
  • Planning, conceptualization, and coordination of exploration, investigation, and remediation measures.
  • Execution and technical evaluation of risk assessments and environmental engineering reports.
  • Support of approval and coordination processes with authorities.
  • Evaluation of legal, technical, and environmental framework conditions.
  • Consulting clients on issues related to contaminated sites and soil protection.
  • Collaboration with authorities, clients, and other project participants.

Leadership Responsibility

  • Technical and disciplinary leadership of the department.
  • Development and motivation of employees.
  • Capacity planning and resource management.
  • Ensuring quality, deadlines, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Strategic development of the Soil and Groundwater Reports / Contaminated Sites department.
  • Fostering constructive, team-oriented collaboration.

Your Profile:

  • Completed studies in Geosciences, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a comparable field.
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in contaminated sites and soil/groundwater reports.
  • Experience in leading complex projects and ideally teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of soil protection and contaminated sites law.
  • Proficient in handling relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Fluent German and good English language skills.
  • Willingness to travel (project-related).
