Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems using Ruby, Scala, and Go across Stripe's engineering teams.
• Build software infrastructure, including development, testing, and deployment.
• Design and develop software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict outcomes.
• Engineer payment integrations with various financial partner software systems.
• Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine design feasibility within time and cost constraints.
• Collaborate with engineers company-wide to build new features at large scale.
• Build new systems for securely storing sensitive data.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2 years of Software Engineering experience.

Position Requirements

• 2 years of experience working with Ruby, React, Typescript, and AWS.
• 2 years of experience implementing industry-standard design patterns.
• 2 years of software engineering experience building full-stack web applications at scale.
• 2 years of experience building front-end JavaScript web applications.
• 2 years of experience designing back-end systems and optimizing/tuning for performance and latency.
• 2 years of experience with database management in MongoDB.
• 2 years of experience using SQL, Presto, and related query languages for data analysis.
• 2 years of experience designing intuitive APIs for users.
• 1 year of experience testing and building reliable systems for payment processing.

Salary & Compensation

• Salary Range: $156,800 - $235,200 per year (base salary).
• Hours: 40 hours/week.
• Telework: Up to 50% telework permitted.
• Additional Benefits: Equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses (if applicable), 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision benefits, and wellness stipends.
• Note: Sales commissions/bonuses are in addition to the base salary if applicable.
