Job Opportunity: Software Engineer, Customer Insights

Pantheon powers the open web, serving over 300,000 sites for clients including Google, Princeton, and Doctors Without Borders. Our platform enables thousands of developers and marketers to create, iterate, and scale WordPress and Drupal sites globally. We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Customer Insights Team and build the next generation of customer-facing observability features.

The Role

In this role, you will create backend systems that transform raw observability data from platforms like New Relic, Grafana, and Cloudflare into clear, actionable insights surfaced directly within our product. You’ll work on Portfolio Insights, OpenTelemetry exploration, and product analytics capabilities. This is product engineering work focused on building features customers interact with daily, not internal tooling. You will primarily work in Go, with Python and SQL for data-related tasks.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Comfort with ambiguity; you'll be defining what "meaningful insights" means to customers.
  • A pragmatic approach to balancing performance, cost, and delivery speed.
  • A focus on user-facing aspects, not just APIs.
  • Good collaboration skills to work effectively with product, design, and cross-functional teams.
  • A desire to learn observability concepts on the job (we have domain experts on the team to mentor you).

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 3+ years of experience building production services and features.
  • Go experience is a plus (or a similar systems language).
  • Comfort working with React, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
  • Proficiency with BigQuery/SQL and Python for data work.
  • Experience with observability platforms (e.g., New Relic, Grafana, Datadog).
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with GCP infrastructure primitives, Terraform, and container management solutions like Kubernetes.

What We Offer:

Beyond the standard perks and benefits, we offer a fantastic work environment powered by an amazing team.

  • Industry-competitive compensation and equity plan.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Sick Leave (PSL), and 12 Paid Company Holidays.
  • Comprehensive medical coverage (Extended health care, dental, vision).
  • Top-of-the-line equipment.
  • In-office workspace available in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
  • Monthly allowances for wellness and reading, plus access to LinkedIn Learning for continuous development.
  • Team-based and company-wide events and activities designed to inspire, educate, and cultivate.

Pantheon is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time. The Canadian base salary range for this position is $103,000 - $129,000 CAD per year.
