Software Engineer, Customer Insights

Pantheonā€¢šŸŒ Remote Worldwide•Estimated: $80,000 - $120,000

✨ AI Insights & Summary

Pantheon is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join their Customer Insights team and build the future of customer-facing observability features. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer passionate about product development, working with modern technologies like Go, Python, and SQL to transform raw data into actionable insights that directly impact users. If you thrive in a remote-forward environment, enjoy tackling complex problems, and want to shape the user experience of a leading WebOps platform, this role offers significant ownership and impact.

About Pantheon

Pantheon empowers exceptional builders to shape the future of the web. Our WebOps platform is used by over 300,000 websites globally, including major organizations like Google, Princeton, and the United Nations. We enable thousands of developers and marketers daily to build, iterate, and scale WordPress, Drupal, and Next.js sites. At Pantheon, we foster a culture of ownership, impact, and freedom, driven by a vibrant, remote-forward team of experts dedicated to their craft and delivering results.

The Role

Join the Pantheon Customer Insights Team as a Software Engineer and take the lead in developing next-generation customer-facing observability features. You will architect and build backend systems that process and transform raw observability data from platforms like New Relic, Grafana, and Cloudflare into clear, actionable insights directly within our product. This is a product engineering role focused on building features that customers interact with daily, not internal tools. You'll work on exciting areas such as Portfolio Insights, OpenTelemetry exploration, and product analytics capabilities, primarily using Go, with Python and SQL for data-intensive tasks.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Embrace ambiguity and actively define what constitutes "meaningful insights" for our customers.
  • Apply a pragmatic approach to balancing performance, cost, and delivery speed.
  • Possess a strong user-centric focus, caring deeply about what users experience, not just the underlying APIs.
  • Demonstrate excellent collaboration skills, working effectively with product, design, and cross-functional teams.
  • Exhibit a genuine desire to learn observability concepts on the job, supported by domain experts within the team.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 3+ years of experience in building production services and features.
  • Experience with Go is a plus, or a similar systems programming language.
  • Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
  • Comfort with BigQuery/SQL and Python for data-related tasks.
  • Experience with observability platforms such as New Relic, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
