Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

About the Role

Cynch AI, a Series A company experiencing significant revenue growth, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who fully embraces AI tooling. This role is central to the company's mission of transforming how software is built and delivered. You will be a key player in leveraging modern AI development practices to increase speed, improve software quality, and tackle ambitious problems. This is a full-stack role with a backend focus, requiring comfort working across the entire development stack, from backend services and data pipelines to frontend product experiences.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with founders, product, AI, operations, and domain experts to fully own substantial product and platform initiatives from problem definition through production rollout.
• Develop robust backend systems capable of handling complex production requirements, including clear APIs, well-modeled data, reliable execution, effective observability, and maintainable code.
• Transform complex operational workflows into streamlined software abstractions, internal tools, automations, and customer-facing features.
• Continuously identify and implement ways AI can meaningfully improve software quality and development velocity.
• Enhance the engineering system itself by improving tools, patterns, deployment practices, observability, and reducing technical debt.
• Mentor other engineers by elevating the quality of design discussions, implementation choices, code reviews, and production ownership.

Work Environment

• Location: Hybrid in San Francisco; Remote within the United States.
• Salary Range (California): $190,000 – $240,000
• Salary Range (US, outside CA): Approximately $160,000 – $225,000, depending on experience, leveling, and geographic market.
• Other Compensation: Eligible for equity and benefits.

Who We're Looking For

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep backend expertise.
• Proficiency in integrating AI tools into daily engineering workflows to enhance velocity and quality.
• A proven track record of building and operating production systems.
• Excellent understanding of APIs, data modeling, databases, queues, reliability, performance, and operational simplicity.
• Frontend capabilities to build and polish product experiences when required.
• Experience in early-stage environments with evolving requirements, shifting priorities, and broad ownership.
• Strong product judgment focused on shipping code that effectively solves problems.
• A pragmatic approach to architecture, knowing when to design carefully, when to implement simple solutions, and when to reduce complexity.
• Ability to lead projects, accept feedback, engage in thoughtful discussions, and execute tasks effectively.
• Experience building AI-enabled products, internal platforms, workflow systems, or developer tools.
• Familiarity with technologies such as TypeScript, React, Python, Julia, Java, Go, or similar.
• Experience with Postgres, AWS, data pipelines, document processing, integrations, or compliance-sensitive systems.
