GTM Engineer

Pogoā€¢šŸ“ USA•Estimated: $80,000 - $120,000

✨ AI Insights & Summary

This inaugural GTM Engineer role at Pogo offers a unique opportunity to pioneer the integration of AI into Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies, directly impacting revenue growth and sales efficiency. You'll be instrumental in auditing, identifying gaps, and building AI-powered systems that automate manual workflows and enhance sales plays. This position is ideal for a hands-on software engineer with GTM experience and a passion for AI, providing significant autonomy and the chance to shape a critical function in a fast-paced startup.

About the Role

As the first GTM Engineer at Pogo, you will collaborate closely with Growth, Sales, Design, and Engineering teams to develop AI-powered systems that drive revenue compounding. You will work on Pogo's enterprise AI SaaS product, acting as both a builder and an operator by shipping code that directly influences pipeline generation and conversion rates. This role is central to scaling Pogo's growth and sales motions through AI-driven competitive advantages.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy AI-powered workflows to scale growth and sales motions, creating a competitive advantage.
  • Audit the existing GTM technology stack, identify gaps and redundancies, and implement solutions rapidly.
  • Integrate with sales and growth teams to translate their best practices into scalable organizational systems.
  • Develop internal tools and agents to automate manual workflows, including lead routing, enrichment, outbound personalization, account research, content distribution, and attribution.
  • Strategically decide when to utilize off-the-shelf tools versus building custom solutions.
  • Partner with engineering and design teams to test new features, provide feedback, and dogfood internal AI capabilities for GTM use cases.
  • Create playbooks and internal guides to facilitate the propagation of successful strategies across the team.

About You

  • Likely 2-5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a portion dedicated to GTM, growth, or revenue systems.
  • Extensive user of AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) with a track record of shipping non-trivial projects using them.
  • Experience building with LLMs and AI agents, including RAG, evaluations, tool use, and prompt engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with modern GTM tools (e.g., Clay, HubSpot/Salesforce, Apollo, Cargo, Gong, Outreach/Instantly) and fluency with APIs, webhooks, and integrations.
  • Strong product and design sensibilities, ensuring internal tools are as polished as the core product.
  • Systems-thinking approach, adept at transforming complex operational problems into clean, automated solutions.
  • Possess strong commercial instinct, able to identify leverage points from sales calls or growth dashboards.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, especially in ambiguous situations.
  • Experience building and maintaining production systems used by actual users (internal users count).
  • Bonus: Experience in early-stage startups or building personal products; shipped AI agents that impacted revenue metrics; background in RevOps, Marketing Ops, or Sales Engineering prior to a full development focus.

Why You Might Be Excited About This Opportunity

Why You Might Not Be Excited About Us
